I started sewing in 1974. I have been sewing since then. Everyone has always told me I should go into business for my self. I found out that I was going to be on a long trip with my two granddaughters so, I made each of them about 20 outfits, sleeping bags, a tent, robs, slippers, bed linens, etc. No one could believe that I had made everything. I made a few modifications on a couple of your patterns. I had planned to come home and turn my ebay store over to selling doll clothes I had made. I received a call while I was out of state that my husband was on the way to the hospital. I have been taking care of him ever since. They decided to fire him because he is on disability now. SO, my goal for 2013 is to get back in that sewing room and to start making those doll clothes. I was told that I need to start taking some “me” time, and sewing is what I love to do most.

  412. Cathy Gulotta /

My goal is to finally open my own business and do something for me. After raising three kids and devoting my time to them, it is now my time for me time. I have been striving for this for the past couple of years. Due to illness and deaths in the family, my dream has always been getting put on the back burner. My husband was hospitalized 3 times in the past two years. This past year both of my daughters were preganant. One had a baby in neonatal for weeks. While in the process of giving birth, my other daughter found out in an ultrasound that her baby had a birth defect and wouldn’t live. She carried it to term and he passed away an hour later. She has been depressed and for the past few months she will not even speak of any of the family so the holidays have been stressful. So the dream has been kind of put on hold for a while. Hopefully 2013 will be a much better year and I can finally do something I have been dreaming of for years.

      Cathy,

I am so sorry about the struggles you and your daughters have had. I don’t know if your daughter is open to this but here is my friends website that she started after her baby passed away shortly after birth. http://www.angelbabiesinfo.com/. She has a lot of good information to help through the mourning and healing. She has been a great help to me and to others that have had to go through this.

      Hugs
